The City of the Internet
INTERNETOPOLI is a project of the LUDOTECA DEL REGISTRO .IT, whose goal is to spread digital culture and responsible use of the Internet in primary schools. The REGISTRO .IT is the registry of .it domains, managed by the Institute of Informatics and Telematics (IIT) of the National Research Council (CNR).
INTERNETOPOLI is a multimedia application compatible with the IWB, dedicated to primary and lower secondary school students, designed by trainers of the Ludoteca del Registro .it. This new version of the web app, which replaces the previous one created in 2015, in addition to having been updated in content, has been completely renewed in graphic style and interactions, introducing elements of gamification, new games and activities.
The contents revolve around four macro areas:
• how the internet works;
• its conscious use;
• IT security;
• the opportunities of the Internet.
With visual navigation, the kids are accompanied on a gaming adventure to discover the city of the Internet, through six thematic paths characterized by engaging and challenging dynamics, typical of gamification: missions to complete, points and badges to earn, rankings, elements to unlock and collect.
The GAMES section offers some of the themes addressed in the missions in the form of interactive, printable and coding-based games, all to be played in single player mode or in a group.
